What Is Facepiece Harness?

The facepiece harness is the adjustable strap system that secures the SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) facepiece to the firefighter's head, ensuring an airtight seal for respiratory protection. It typically consists of multiple straps and buckles designed for quick donning and doffing while maintaining comfort and stability during operations. Not to be confused with the firefighter harness used for personal safety and rescue, the facepiece harness is integral to maintaining the integrity of the breathing air supply within the Hot/Warm/Cold Zone environments.
