A facepiece lens tear-off system is an accessory used with SCBA (self-contained breathing apparatus) facepieces to maintain clear vision in smoke, debris, or other contaminants during fireground operations. It consists of multiple thin, transparent plastic layers that can be quickly peeled away to reveal a clean lens surface. Not to be confused with facepiece lenses themselves, this system enhances visibility without removing or replacing the entire facepiece. It is particularly valuable in environments requiring rapid clearance of visual obstructions, such as during RIT/RIC (Rapid Intervention Team/Company) deployments or in Hot Zone conditions.
