The SCBA facepiece is a critical component of the self-contained breathing apparatus, designed to create an airtight seal around the wearer's face while providing visibility through a clear lens. It incorporates a speaking diaphragm to facilitate communication during operations, such as those conducted under the Incident Command System (ICS) or during Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) scenarios. Not to be confused with a full helmet, the facepiece specifically addresses respiratory protection against toxic gases and particulates encountered in hazardous environments.
