Definition & Operational Usage
A fire hose appliance is a specialized device designed to manage and manipulate the flow of water through fire hoses during firefighting operations. Examples include nozzles, wyes, and manifolds, which facilitate the splitting or combining of water streams and the adjustment of pressure. Not to be confused with basic hose fittings, these appliances play a vital role in effective water management and tactical operations within the Incident Command System (ICS) framework.
