UN 0335 — Fireworks
Placard: Explosive 1.3G. ERG Guide 112. Training/quick-reference only — use current ERG + SOP/SOG for incident-specific actions.
UN 0335 identifies Class 1.3G fireworks, pyrotechnic articles that present a significant fire hazard with intense heat output and potential fragment projection upon ignition. These manufactured articles are commonly shipped in cardboard tubes, canisters, and fused containers and require strict separation from ignition sources during transport and storage.
Hazard overview: UN 0335 fireworks do not pose a mass explosion risk but can produce intense, sustained burning with dangerous heat output that may ignite surrounding materials. Fragment projection from rupturing containers creates a secondary hazard that extends the danger zone beyond the immediate fire area.
Response guidance: Responders must isolate the scene a minimum of 500 meters in all directions and expand evacuation to 800 meters if cargo is involved in fire. Apply water fog only from a safe standoff distance; never direct solid water streams onto bulk quantities of these articles.
